Install
Add FeedShade to Chrome (opens Chrome Web Store in a new tab) from the Chrome Web Store.

Pin it
Open Chrome's Extensions menu (the puzzle-piece icon) and pin FeedShade to your toolbar.

A First run notice says Region checks are off. Pick Only use info X already shows for zero extra checks, or Enable automatic checks to let FeedShade check regions slowly — at most once every 10 minutes and 6 times in any hour.

Open settings
Click the FeedShade icon in your toolbar, then Open settings.

Choose what to cover
Pick a region under Regions, add up to 3 words with Add word or phrase, and a language with Add a post language. Free includes 1 region, 3 words, and 1 language.

Browse
Matching posts show Hidden by FeedShade with the reason. Click Show to reveal one, or Always show @handle to keep that account visible.

In the popup or under Plan in settings, click Upgrade to Pro. Already bought it? Use Restore purchase.

Slow on purpose.
Region checks stay off until you agree. After that they run slowly — and if X ever pushes back, FeedShade pauses its own checks while X keeps working normally.

An honest note
Extra checks use your signed-in X account, and X could treat them as unusual activity, so there's some risk of account limits. The slow pace is a precaution, not a guarantee. Accounts FeedShade doesn't know yet always stay visible.
Private
Your settings stay on your computer. No FeedShade servers, no FeedShade analytics, and no selling your data. Pro payments are handled by ExtensionPay, a payment service for extensions.

Does FeedShade block or delete anything?
No. Matching posts are covered right where they are, with the reason shown and a one-click Show button. Nothing is deleted, and nobody is blocked on X.
Are region checks on by default?
